There is a transcendent awareness, a Big Mind, A Big Heart, present and readily accessible to each and every one of us...
A New Year’s Ceremony in the Garden of Saratoga Springs
When the family cheer has run out and you have had enough of the Holiday Party scene- join your sacred brothers and sisters for a tree planting gathering. We will quietly reflect upon the seasons changing and what we intend to grow this next year- both metaphorically and literally.
Gathering
Begins Tuesday Dec 31st at noon
Gathering Ends Sunday, Jan 5th, after lunch
This Gathering calls Fae friends and lovers of plants and animals to huddle in the darkness near the winter night fire and during the short days get your hands dirty. We intend to plant apple and other fruit trees in an ancient rite of working with Mother Earth. But where should they be planted?
We
call those with an affinity for permaculture, horticulture, gardening,
farming, landscaping, planting, fertilizing, honoring the earth, honoring
our animal selves, mirthful and jolly earth Mommas and land Daddys. We
call those who feel the planet and humans would benefit from
conversations and plans about where to put trees that bear fruit for our
tribe. We call those who want to understand these concerns more deeply.
Our intention is to celebrate the seasonal shifts and have conversations and heart circles related to what does it mean to live in harmony with the land, walk lightly, understand permaculture, how can we be more sustainable? We will plant fruit trees NOW so that in 5 years we will celebrate the winter season with organic apple pies and applesauce and other naturally healthy and sustainable foods.
We
know many of you have been itching to talk about creating Saratoga
Springs into a Garden of Delight, full of the earth’s bounty and also
wondering where will the water come from in the dry California summers?
We call all enthusiasts of these concerns to come meet together, laugh
and break bread. We will discover each other again as the earth
visionaries, experienced horticulturists, sage planners and wise
thinkers, and guardians of the earth that we are. We invite you. please
come.
Want to help? We need a Kitchen Queen and a Housing Coordinator.
